At Hyozaemon, based on the recognition that chopsticks that enter the mouth are "food," pure lacquer that is not mixed is registered as a trademark of "virgin lacquer," and "the tip of the chopsticks that we manufacture is virgin lacquer. We make chopsticks with a high safety standard of "use only".
It was around 1970 that Hyozaemon began to review the safety aspects of chopsticks.
It was triggered by a simple question from one mother.
My child is playing with the tip of chopsticks drawing a picture like a colored pencil . Is it okay to put chopsticks that fade like this in my mouth?
It was a shocking thing for us
At that time and even now, most Japanese chopsticks are synthetic chemical paints. Hyozaemon also used synthetic chemical paints without any doubt. Since then, Hyozaemon has been confronting "what is true peace of mind?" And continues to make "food chopsticks."
We do not believe that the food hygiene law, which is a safety standard, is really safe.
Under current national safety standards, the same "lacquer" can be labeled in all of the following cases:
(1) Synthetic chemical paint mixed with even one drop of lacquer
(2) A product in which synthetic chemical paint is applied and then lacquer is applied only once on the surface.
③ Only 100% natural lacquer is applied from undercoat to finish
It is a standard that can be displayed as "lacquer" regardless of the content of lacquer.
* We also have chopsticks with a beeswax finish, which is a natural material that does not use lacquer.
Children tend to give colorful chopsticks to the tip of the chopsticks that they are happy with, but the percentage of young children chewing on chopsticks is almost 100%. The paint is in my body without my knowledge.
Hyozaemon's children's chopsticks have a colorful synthetic paint on the handle, but the tip of the chopsticks has a safe and secure 100% natural lacquer finish. Of course, we also have chopsticks with natural lacquer finish, including the handles. For children who play and eat while biting their hands, please purchase chopsticks with an all-natural lacquer finish.
In addition, the natural material chopsticks made of "lacquer" and "wood" that Hyozaemon continues to stick to have "warmth" that cannot be obtained from chopsticks made of plastic and synthetic chemical paint. Hyozaemon believes that touching this "warmth" and "genuine" fosters the importance of eating and the spirituality of treating tableware and things with care.
